Brief Biography of Colonel Dr. Arab Khan (Fattahzada), Chief of Pediatric Medicine at Shaheed Sardar Mohammad Dawod khan Hospital

Colonel Dr. Arab Khan (Fattahzada), the Chief of Pediatric Medicine at Shaheed Sardar Mohammad Dawod khan  Hospital, was born in 1971 in a devout and educated family in the village of Dara Kalan, Ibrahim Khil, Nijrab District, Kapisa Province. He completed the first two years of his primary education at the Dara Kalan Boys’ Primary School in Nijrab District. He then continued his primary education at Shah Shaheed School in Kabul. After the fourth grade, he transferred to Sayedul Naseri Middle School in Khair Khana, Kabul, where he completed his primary education. In 1986, after finishing primary school, he enrolled in the Harbi Shoonhi High School.

Upon completing high school with honors, he passed the entrance exam with excellent grades and was admitted to the Military Medical Institute of Kabul, specifically in the Faculty of Curative Medicine. However, due to the ongoing war and internal conflicts in Kabul, his studies were delayed by three years. He eventually graduated in 1999 from the Faculty of Curative Medicine at Kabul Medical University.

After graduation, Dr. Arab Khan was appointed as a doctor in the Pediatric Medicine Department at Shaheed Sardar Mohammad Dawod khan  Hospital. He later specialized in pediatric medicine at the same hospital. In 2016, after completing the required legal procedures, he was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor (Ranghooryar) and was appointed as a specialist trainer in pediatric medicine. Colonel Dr. Arab Khan (Fattahzada) has been serving as the Chief of Pediatric Medicine at Shaheed Sardar Mohammad Dawod khan  Hospital for the past 10 years.

Brief Information About the Pediatric Medicine Service at Shaheed Sardar Mohammad Dawod khan Hospital

The Pediatric Medicine Service is one of the active therapeutic and educational departments within Shaheed Sardar Mohammad Dawod khan  Hospital. Since its establishment, this department has been dedicated to providing healthcare services to the brave children of the National Defense Ministry personnel.

The Pediatric Medicine Service operates in two main sections: Outpatient Department (OPD) and Inpatient Department (IPD). In the OPD, when a patient arrives, they undergo a physical examination, and if necessary, laboratory and diagnostic tests are conducted. Based on the diagnosis, the appropriate medication is prescribed, which is dispensed from the hospital’s pharmacy according to the treating doctor’s instructions. The patient is then given instructions on how to use the medication and is discharged. For those patients requiring more thorough investigation, diagnosis, and inpatient treatment, they are admitted to the IPD, where they receive the necessary treatment and undergo required procedures before being discharged after a confirmed diagnosis and completion of treatment. In addition to providing healthcare services, the Pediatric Medicine Service is also involved in educational activities, including training for pediatric medicine residents, military medical interns, and mid-level medical students. this department.
