The Ministry of Defense, as a strong defense institution in the country, is responsible for protecting national borders, religious and national values, economic infrastructure, academic and cultural assets, and political stability, alongside ensuring the health of the national army and the public. The Medical Affairs Command also holds the responsibility of training professional cadres in diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases through the Academy of Medical Sciences. Our goal is to build a healthy and powerful army, and we also cooperate with the Ministry of Public Health in emergencies. The health services of this command are provided in a standardized and up-to-date manner, in accordance with international standards and Afghanistan’s health laws. Through the Military Medical Institute, we train professional cadres across the country, resulting in graduates who become physicians, specialists, and other related professionals. The Medical Affairs Command is home to the country’s finest medical personnel and offers various job opportunities for professional doctors to serve the nation. Salaries range from 30,000 to 100,000 Afghanis, with additional performance-based compensation available.
With the return and success of the Islamic Emirate, the leadership of the Ministry of Defense has paid special attention to the Medical Affairs Command, resulting in the acquisition of new medical equipment, devices, and specialists. So far, 2 billion Afghanis and 10 million dollars have been spent on various medicines, diagnostic devices, and machinery. Currently, we perform orthopedic, neurosurgery, and general surgeries, as well as advanced procedures in orthopedics, brain surgery, microscopic surgery, endoscopic, laser, laparoscopic, arthroscopic, and all types of open-heart surgeries, including interventional cardiac operations. As the Commander of Medical Affairs, I pledge that all military hospitals and their staff, including the 400-bed Sardar Mohammad Daud Khan Complex Hospital, will shine as exemplary models in delivering health services to our nation.
Your brother,
Lieutenant General Dr. Ahrar
